The include Alure2 has a slight different API than upstream, therefore must be compiled together. (legacy) Just load the MetaHook solution, set your post-build event to your desired folder and compile normally with Visual Studio. Run build-MetaAudio.bat, wail until all binary files generated.NET Framework 4.5 installed in your system otherwise the SteamAppsLocation will probably not work.

(optional) Run install-to-GameName.bat to tell MSVC where the GameInstallDir is and where to install MetaAudio. (this may takes couple of minutes, depending on your network connection and download speed) Run build-initdeps.bat, wait until all required submodules / dependencies are pulled. Visual Studio 2017 or 2019, with vc141 or vc142 toolset. Integrate SteamAudio for reflections/reverb in addition to OpenAL's native effects. Some sounds does not use the correct source origin. There should be an "audio.dll" entry in "plugins.lst". Thus we now have HRTF and surround sound back to our beloved GoldSrc games, and, as this plugin hooks directly into the engine, most mods should work with the new system. This fork fixes some bugs and uses Alure instead of OpenAL directly for easier source management. This is a fork of MetaAudio, a GoldSrc plugin that adds OpenAL support to its sound system. Note that you might have to reload a save-game or do it at the main menu after enabling cheat-mode for certain commands to work. You can use the console command svcheats 1 to allow the usage of console commands such as god and noclip. Please try the following:ġ.Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance > Data Execution Prevention.Ģ.Select "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:"ģ.Select "Add", navigate to C:\Program Files\Steam (or your default Steam directory), and add Steam.exe to the exception list.Ĥ.Additionally, you will need to add the executable (hl.exe, for example) for any game you are seeing issues with. While the plugin is not a cheat, VAC may flag MetaHook and ban the user.ĭo not use with Steam in online mode, we are not responsible if your account is banned. The developer console can be opened by pressing (Note you may have to turn it on in the in-game settings). Older games, such as GoldSrc games, were not created with DEP in mind and may trigger DEP's security features inadvertently.

This may be caused by Data Execution Prevention (DEP) which is a security feature enabled on recent operating systems. I'm running Windows Vista or Windows 7, and some or all of my GoldSrc games (Half-Life, Half-Life: Blue Shift, Opposing Force, Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic) will get to the loading screen just before the menu appears, then crash to desktop.
